The holiday season has officially arrived in Saskatoon, and I couldn't be more excited! My family and I are decking the halls and decorating the tree this weekend—it's one of my favorite traditions.

With the joy of holiday gatherings and events also comes the hustle and bustle of shopping. If you're like me and handle most of the gift hunting, this guide to Saskatoon's best holiday markets is just what you need!

Nov. 23rd- Persephone Theatre's Holiday Market

 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. | Persephone Theatre

Persephone Theatre's 50th Holiday in Saskatoon is a milestone worth celebrating! Be sure to check out Persephone Theatre's Holiday Market as you will feel all the festive vibes while supporting local artisans. With over 25 vendors, holiday refreshments, and entertainment, it's a one-stop shop for seasonal cheer. Admission is by donation, making it a great way to give back to the community while checking gifts off my list. They will also have ticket packages and 50th-anniversary merch—how fun is that?

Nov. 29th & 30th – The Holly Jolly Holiday Market

5–10 p.m. & 10 a.m.–5 p.m. | Cosmopolitan Senior Citizens Centre 

This two-day market is back for a third year! The Holly Jolly Holiday Market brings together over 30 incredible local vendors, making it the perfect spot to find handmade gifts, delicious treats, and unique holiday decor. There's something special about browsing the stalls and chatting with local makers—it really feels like the heart of the holiday season. Plus, the festive atmosphere is unbeatable. Admission is free, and they will be collecting non-perishable food items.

Nov. 30th – Sask Maker Sale

10 a.m. to 6 p.m. | Wilson's Lifestyle Centre 

I'm so excited that the Sask Maker Sale is back and in a new location! With 80 Saskatchewan handmade vendors under one roof, it's impossible not to feel inspired by all the creativity. From tasty food to home decor, there's truly something for everyone. Grab your tickets for $5 (kids 12 and under are free!), and try to get yourself one of those swag bags. This market feels like a festive treasure hunt and is a fantastic way to support small businesses.

Dec. 7th – REAL Holiday Market

3 p.m to 9 p.m. | Saskatoon Makerspace

This cozy evening market is perfect for getting into the holiday spirit. The REAL Holiday Market happening at the wonderful Saskatoon Makerspace, has over 25 unique vendors offering everything from art prints to pet gifts—and even permanent jewelry! You will surely find a one-of-a-kind gift for that special someone on your list while supporting your local artisans. There will be Precision Coffee and food from Diane's Place. Admission is by financial or food donation.

Dec. 7th – A Christmas Yarmarok | Market

10 a.m. to 4 p.m. | Ukrainian Museum of Canada 

If you've never been to the Christmas Yarmarok at the Ukrainian Museum of Canada, this is your year! This Ukrainian marketplace is a true gem, featuring handmade goods, live music, carolers, a silent auction and even door prizes! I love the mix of cultural traditions and festive fun—it's such a warm and welcoming event. Plus, free admission and parking make it easy to pop in and explore everything the market offers.

Dec. 8th – Dated & Faded Thriftmas Market

10 a.m. to  6 p.m. | Saskatoon Inn

Sustainable shopping with a holiday twist? Count me in! The Dated & Faded Thriftmas Market located at the Saskatoon Inn, is perfect for finding unique, vintage treasures. With over 35 vendors showcasing everything from retro clothing to vinyl records, it's a thrifting dream. I love the idea of giving secondhand items a new life while supporting small businesses. Plus, there's always something nostalgic about sifting through vintage pieces—it's like a walk down memory lane. This market is the perfect way to find a unique gift for your loved ones. Admission is free.

Dec. 14th – Kith & Kin Holiday Market

10 a.m. to 5 p.m. | Prairieland Park Hall A 

Kith & Kin Holiday Market is the ultimate holiday shopping experience, with over 125 small shops from across Canada under one roof at Prairieland Park! Whether you're hunting for one-of-a-kind gifts or just soaking up the festive ambiance, the Kith & Kin Holiday Market is a must-visit. Also, they will have an opportunity to get pictures with Santa; how fun that is! With over 125 vendors, you will not be leaving empty-handed! Admission is $5, with 12 and under free.
