Saskatooning this February

I don't know about you, but it felt like there were 87 days in January! However, we made it through, and we're onto February! This month has TONS of activities going on. There is something for everyone, so let's get into it!

Outdoors

If you are looking for a time to experience Saskatoon in the winter, this is the month! The annual Nutrien WinterShines festival is back and running from Feb. 17-24. With ice sculptures, wagon rides, soup cook-offs, and so much more, you will definitely want to check it out.  


Another festival happening this month is the Nutrien Kôna Winter Festival at Wanuskewin on February. 24th from 10:00-4:00. Head out to Wanuskewin and enjoy a day immersing yourself in Indigenous culture and enjoy an array of activities such as dog sledding, Powwow & Creeland dancers, sleigh rides and more!


Along with these festivals, some great events are happening, such as Meewasin's Sip & Skate at the Meewasin Cameco Skating Rink will have three events this month, February. 10, 14, and 24, Back2Nature Wellness is hosting a Ski, Snowshoe, & Sauna out at Blackstrap Provincial Park, and Life Outside Exchange is hosting three ski bus trips to ski hills around the province!
 

Sports

Saskatoon is excited to be hosting Team Canada Vs. U.S. Women's Rivalry Series on February 7th at SaskTel Centre. Be sure to get your tickets; they are selling fast, and you won't want to miss the action! Saskatoon's own Emily Clark will be playing! The Saskatchewan Rush & Saskatoon Blades both have some home games this month. You can find their games here.


Ram Motorsports Spectacular is once again back at SaskTel Centre! Enjoy the thrill-seeking show with exciting tricks and stunts, perfect for the family. It's all happening in February. 16th and 17th!

Concerts

Are you a music lover? Well, you are in luck! There is a variety of great shows happening this month. On February 7th, Feist is playing at TCU Place; on February 15th, the Strumbellas are playing at the Capitol Music Club; on February 21st, High Valley is at TCU Place, and Ice Cube is playing at SaskTel Centre on February 26th! Entertainment

 

The Persephone Theatre has a great show this month. This is How We Got Here until February 11th, be sure to check it out! On February 3rd, the National Ballet of Ukraine is in Saskatoon, and the show starts at 8:00 pm at TCU Place. Lastly, dust your dancing shoes off because the Saskatoon Fiddle Orchestra is hosting their Winter Sparkler old-time dance on February 17th at 7:30 pm and Saskatoon Salsa Dance is hosting Mi Amor Valentines event at LB Distillers on February 16th at 6:30 pm!
