Festive Fun: Your Holiday Event Guide to Saskatoon
The most magical time of the year is here, and Saskatoon is bursting with festive cheer! Whether you're looking for sparkling lights, holiday performances, or family-friendly activities, there's something for everyone to enjoy this holiday season.
BHP Enchanted Forest
Going to the BHP Enchanted Forest is a family tradition we love every year! We grab a coffee or hot chocolate, pick a treat, and cruise through the dazzling light displays, with Christmas music cranked up, of course! Do you have a favourite display? I love them all! Make sure to add this sparkling experience to your holiday plans. It runs until January 5th, and you can pick up a car pass from local stores beforehand or pay at the entrance.
Wheatland Express Magical Christmas Train
If the Polar Express took a detour to Saskatchewan, this would be it! The Wheatland Express Excursion Train is hosting a Magical Christmas Express that includes a decorated train ride from Wakaw to Cudworth, hot chocolate, caroling, and snacks! I'm so excited to take my family this weekend; it will be magical! Families are encouraged to wear their cozy pyjamas and remember their letters for Santa, as he will be aboard the train! Wakaw is an hour outside Saskatoon, so give yourself enough time to travel! Learn more about it here!

Glow Saskatoon
Step into a wonderland of twinkling lights at Glow Saskatoon, an indoor holiday light festival at Prairieland Park. Picture thousands of lights lit up; you feel like you are in an enchanted forest! There is also a festive market, princesses and superheroes, face painting, train rides, a playground and a food fair with live entertainment—all under one roof! It's perfect for creating new holiday memories with your family or snapping that Instagram-worthy holiday photo. With events running all month, there is plenty of time to soak in the magic.

Holiday Movies Across Saskatoon
Holiday movies are a must, and Saskatoon has no shortage of screenings to enjoy this season! Support local businesses while catching classics like The Polar Express or It's a Wonderful Life at Remai Modern. Or opt for cozy nights at the Broadway Theatre, Bad Santa, anyone? and The Roxy Theatre The Santa Clause and more! Colosseum Presents will be showing a Muppet Christmas Carol and Christmas Vacation. Bonus: TCU Place is hosting a FREE family movie day this weekend featuring Home Alone, which is one of my favorites. So grab your coziest holiday sweater and settle in for some cinematic joy!
Holiday Décor Classes at BlackFox Farm & Distillery
The talented team at BlackFox Farm & Distillery is hosting holiday décor classes, including wreath-making and centerpiece workshops with fresh greens; I can smell the fresh greens already! It's the perfect activity for a girl's night out or a thoughtful gift for someone crafty on your list. Plus, their shop is stocked with fabulous gift ideas, so you can cross off some holiday shopping while you're there!
Santa at Toon Town
Santa's making a stop at Nutrien Wonderhub on December 18th, and your little ones won't want to miss it! This festive event is packed with crafts, holiday treats, and heartwarming holiday stories. Of course, the highlight is meeting Santa himself! Tickets go on sale December 3rd, so mark your calendar (and keep an eye out on our Facebook page, as there might just be a giveaway happening soon!)
Broadway Spirit of Christmas
Nothing says holiday cheer quite like Broadway! On December 5th, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, be sure to check out the Spirit of Christmas event when the street comes alive with twinkling lights, carolers, horse-drawn wagon rides, hot chocolate, and even characters for the kids. Add some late-night shopping and marshmallow roasting, and it's the perfect way to spend a festive evening with your family. Don't forget your mittens and your appetite for s'mores!
Persephone Theatre: Miracle on 34th Street
Running from December 4th to 22nd, Persephone Theatre is bringing the holiday classic Miracle on 34th Street to life. This heartwarming story is packed with magic, charm, and just the right amount of holiday spirit for the entire family. Tickets are going fast, so be sure to grab yours before they're gone!
