Ganbatte Convention

First on our list is Saskatoon’s biggest anime convention: Ganbatte! This year, Ganbatte will take place on August 24th and 25th at TCU Place. This convention always excites me because I love to meet the voice actors they bring to Saskatoon! This convention also brings in vendors from all over the province, so you can truly get your anime shopping on.

These things are only the tip of the iceberg for Ganbatte! They also have a maid cafe, a games room, cosplay guests, and tons of interaction to keep guests entertained. You can dress up, shop until your heart is content, and then continue for more adventure.

Board games on shelves at Amazing Stories

Amazing Stories

I could go on for days about how amazing Amazing Stories is (do you see what I did there?). Board games, card games, comics, graphic novels, Dungeons & Dragons, anime, manga, statues, Pop figures - truly, the list goes on! This unique store brings the convenience of a big-city comic book store into our precious home of Saskatoon. Whatever your passion is, you’ll be able to find it at Amazing Stories!

8th Street Quentin’s Comics and Toys

Stacked to the ceiling with comics, manga, statues, and so much more, 8th Street Quentin’s Comics and Toys have everything that will marvel you no matter the age. I personally love the full selection of manga, from older titles to recently released titles. Plus, with all the small knick-knacks, I constantly find suitable gifts for my younger cousin’s birthdays. Most recently, I noticed they have many How to Draw books! I know I’ll be checking those out soon!

Figure Four Toys & Games

The noise that came out of my mouth when I entered this door. Pop figures are everywhere, along with a ton of memorabilia from older anime, WWE, and even old gaming consoles! I was immediately drawn to their book section, which included some old-school Pokemon books, Nintendo Power, and even some about Yu-Gi-Oh! To say that this place is a nerd's dream is putting it mildly. With tons to look at and games for older and newer consoles, you will surely find something that you love collecting (like Dragonballs)!

Puffsey Cafe

I’m not drooling; you’re drooling! Okay, maybe I am drooling a little bit. Puffsey Cafe is a restaurant that specializes in Japanese cuisine and drinks! I had to try a chocolate cheesecake and a brown sugar pearl milk tea. Both were delicious and left me wanting way more! This cafe serves sushi, ramen, poke bowls, and more. I know I’ll have to dig into a bowl of their Kara Miso Ramen next time I go. You’ll make Naruto jealous with how mouthwatering this ramen looks!

If you still crave an extra sweet treat, visit Sweethoney Desserts on Broadway for authentic Hong Kong dishes!

Of course, when it comes to anime, we all know the heart of the cards is what matters. So, we would love to know where your go-to places are to get anime merchandise in Saskatoon. Did we mention your favourite place? Let us know!
