Unfurled
Saskatoon’s bright future is celebrated in this unique sculpture from artist Douglas Bentham. Installed in 2004, the piece consists of a stainless steel column topped with irregular, organic shapes that appear to be floating on the breeze, capturing the city’s renascent spirit and progressive future.
Artist’s Statement: “This sculpture celebrates our city’s development, expansion, and maturation. Like a tree rooted, then ascending and blossoming, “Unfurled” becomes a visual celebration of spirit — depicting the optimism inherent in a thriving, growing community.”
