Ivana Kupala Celebration
Workshop | Crafting Kupala Medicine: Ukrainian Herbal Series
Saturday, July 6, 2024, 1–3 PM
Let’s make some medicine! Kupalo was traditionally considered an auspicious time to harvest herbs. Medicinal and ritual plants were considered of the highest potency if gathered on that day. In this workshop, Ukrainian-Canadian master herbalist Dionne Jennings will instruct participants on the traditional Ukrainian cycle of harvesting plants for medicinal use, including guidelines for harvesting, the energy and medicine of herb plants, working with the summer solstice rituals and energies, drying and storing herbs, and medicine-making fundamentals using vinegar, alcohol and oil. During the workshop, participants will craft a mineral-rich Summer Solstice Vinegar, a solstice Elixir, and a seasonal infused oil or salve to take home! All materials are included in the registration fee.
This workshop is limited to 12 participants, so register early!
