Sled Dog Rides: Experience the thrill of a Winter Wonderland dog sled-drawn ride. Our experienced drivers will guide you through the enchanting landscape of Richard St. Barbe Baker Afforestation Area, providing a unique and memorable adventure. Each ride lasts approximately 10 minutes.
Family-Friendly Dog Sled Rides: For a cozy family experience, hop on a dog-drawn sled and enjoy a leisurely 10-minute journey through the winter wonderland. Bundle up and relish the picturesque surroundings.

Date and Time: January 13, 2024, Afternoon 1:30 – ending about 4:00 to 4:30 pm
Meetup Location: Park in the SW OLRA parking lot P2. Directions provided, along with a map.
Parking P2 located west of the Civic operations centre (bus barns) and Saskatoon Regional Waste Management Centre (landfill) Travel on Circle Drive towards land fill, and turn right at Township Road 362A (Cedar Villa Road) by the bus barns.

At the event, there will be a first come, first served sign up sheet. Depending on event visitor turn out, there may be capacity to sign in for further rides! You can wait by the staging area, or in your vehicle till your opportunity arises!
Attire: Bundle up in warm clothes, hats, and mittens to fully embrace the winter magic.
Quick Tips: Dress for the weather. Wear warm winter clothing, gloves, insulated boots, toques. Goggles and sunglasses are optional. Helmets are also optional; bring your own if desired.
Helpful Information: No food or drink allowed in the kennel area. The trail is 2 km long (approx. 10 minutes).
Note: There are no washroom facilities at the afforestation area.
NOTE: Sled-drawn rides require three to five inches of snow. In case of insufficient snow, a notice will be placed on Eventbrite, social media, and on-site in regards to suitability for dog-sledding that day. Eventbrite will also send out an email in case of the event changing to a heritage forest walking tour if there is not enough snow for the sleds to ride on. So, there will be something happening: with snow dog-sledding and without snow a walking tour.
⚠️ Restrictions:
Children under 3 must be accompanied by an adult.
No more than 250 lbs in the sled at once.
