Saskatooning this January
It is so hard to believe that we are talking about January already. I still can't wrap my head around the holidays being here! I wanted to share this blog before January, as our Visitor Centre and Office will be closed at noon on December 24 until January 2.
Ski or Snowshoe, Brunch & Sauna with Back2Nature Wellness & Adventures
Kyla with Back2Nature Wellness & Adventures is hosting this event, and it sounds like a lot of fun! Enjoy a guided skiing or snowshoeing tour through the snow, a tasty brunch box by the Prairie Grazer, and a warm wood-burning sauna experience. Located at BlackStrap, this winter experience will refresh you for the rest of the winter! It's happening on January 3, 5, 17, and 31st, so don't miss out!
Back2Nature also hosts a bunch of other events throughout January and the winter months, from Dog Sledding, to Massage & Sauna Retreats, there are many different experiences that will offer you some winter fun and relaxation!
Meewasin Sip & Skate
The Cameco Meewasin Skating Rink @Nutrien Plaza is open for another season! This iconic skating experience can't be missed this winter. Meewasin will also host their popular Sip & Skate nights, which are such magical events. This event is a 19+ event where guests get a chance to skate under the stars, a perfect date night! Enjoy skating, warming up by the fire with a S'more's Box from Prairie Grazer and a warm beverage from LB Distillers, with a cute take-home Meewasin mug! The best part, all proceeds from these events support Meewasin's conservation and education programs. Be sure to get your tickets before they sell out!
Sports, Sports, Sports!
We all know Saskatoon is home to some fantastic sports teams! The Saskatchewan Rush play at home twice, on January 11 and January 25. Be sure to get your tickets and cheer on the Rush! If you haven't been to a game yet, be sure to look over our Sask. Rush Game Day Guide blog!
The Saskatoon Blades have seven home games this month as well! They play on New Year's Day, which is such a fun way to start the new year. See their schedule here and get tickets to enjoy great hockey in Saskatoon.
Also happening in January, the Harlem Globetrotters are back in Saskatoon on their World Tour. They will be playing at SaskTel Centre on January 8 (this might be a great Christmas gift idea for basketball lovers!) The Globetrotters are so entertaining and funny, you won't want to miss it!
Brewery Dinner Series at Dakota Dunes
On January 18, Dakota Dunes is hosting another Brewery Dinner experience; this time, they are hosting it with the delicious and wonderful 9Mile Legacy. I can't wait for this event! Enjoy a chef-curated meal that includes craft beer pairings accompanied by an explanation on how the beer selections are chosen to enhance the flavours of the meal. After dinner, enjoy a pow-wow dance presentation with drums performed by local artists. Be sure to book a night at the beautiful hotel and enjoy a cozy winter night at Dakota Dunes!
Winterruption 2025 Festival
Winterruption is back for another year! Enjoy 5 days of music, theatre, comedy, drag, dance, and more spread across five venues in town! You can also enjoy the free, family-friendly outdoor fun, catch a show or two, or grab a wristband and take it all in! All happening from January 22 to 26, 2025. Learn more or get your tickets for this amazing event here!
As I said, Saskatoon doesn't slow down once the holidays are over. These are just some of the events happening! Be sure to check out our socials and events page on the website!
I want to take a moment to thank our members, partners, and community for making this past year so incredible. However you choose to spend the holidays, I hope you find time to relax and enjoy.
