What's up in #YXE in February
The first month of 2022 is already over - can you believe it?
Whether or not you’re excited to see January go, it’s time to start thinking about February’s festivities – because even though it might be the shortest month of the year, February is always jam-packed with things to do.
One of the events that we are SO excited about is the Winterlude 2022 National Ice-Carving Championships! Now, our ice carver needs some privacy while he works, but tune in to our socials on Feb. 5 and 6 for an insider's look into his sculpture! And don't forget - you get to decide who wins! Voting begins on Feb. 11 and ends on Feb. 20 - be sure to cast your vote!
Feb. 2 - The Mountaintop at the Persephone Theatre
The Persephone Theatre is proud to present the heartwrenching, yet beautiful play The Mountaintop. The play tells the story of Martin Luther King Jr.'s last moments, and runs until Feb. 26 - don't miss out. Buy your tickets here.
Feb. 4 - Oral Fuentes Reggae Band at the Bassment
"Oral Fuentes’ musical journey began in his home country of Belize, where he played for many local and national events in the popular Belizean group, Caribbean Jam. Oral and his 9-piece Saskatoon band play an infectious setlist of original tunes fusing Reggae and Afro/Latin." Get your tickets here.

Feb. 12 – Meewasin Sip & Skate
Is there a more quintessential winter activity than skating at the Cameco Meewasin rink downtown? In this 19+ event, skip the large groups that hit the ice in the day in favour of a night skate, complete with a s'mores box from the Prairie Grazer and an adult beverage courtesy of LB Distillers. Take it from us, this would be a great Valentine's Day date!
Feb. 14 - The In-Between at the Persephone Theatre
"When Lily’s best friend Brit and the guy she likes Karim conflict over racist, anti-Muslim memes, a misunderstanding leads to a school lockdown. Feb. 18 – Full Moon Snowshoe Hike by Back2Nature Wellness and Events
There’s (usually) only one full moon a month – and in February it’s coming in full view on Feb. 18. Make the most of it with a refreshing snowshoe hike at the beautiful Cranberry Flats Conservation Area. Sound good? Sign up here.
Feb. 19 - Blue Mountain Bonspiel
What's better than a good, old-fashioned, bonspiel? A bonspiel on a mountain - that's right, we're talking about the Blue Mountain Bonspiel. Be sure to sign up your team (of up to six people) before February 15th! Find out more here.
Feb. 19 - Kôna Winter Festival at Wanuskewin Presented by Nutrien
Wanuskewin has fantastic programming year-round, and Kôna Winter Festival presented by Nutrien is no exception. At this one-day winter festival, experience an array of indoor and out activities (dog sledding is a big draw) that are sure to be fun for the whole family. Feb. 20 - Blue Rodeo at the TCU Place
In support of their 16th studio album, Canadian Rock 'n' Roll legends Blue Rodeo roll through the Bridge City for what is sure to be an evening of new, old, and favourite tunes. Grab your seats here.

Canoe at the Remai Modern
Now, you're not going to want to miss Canoe - one of the newest exhibits at the Remai Modern. This exhibit explores the importance of the Canoe as a vessel carrying knowledge forward, and is in part curated by Tourism Saskatoon's very own Kelly Tolley! Find out more here.
Rooted: 50 Years of Saskatchewan Craft Gallery
We don’t have to tell you that Saskatchewan has a long history of talented and inspiring artists. To celebrate this tradition, the Saskatchewan Craft Council Gallery is hosting an exhibit that shares the artwork of more than 100 artisans!
Crossmount Cider Company Rink + Igloos!
Crossmount Cider Company is the perfect winter date spot! Grab your special someone and take them skating on the gorgeous pond turned skating rink. They also have individualized "igloos" that you can rent out for you and up to 7 friends! After you are done skating grab a spot and enjoy a flight of cider.
Winter City Snow Glow
The Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan site is home to a light show that is sure to make you smile! The second edition of this fantastic light display runs from Tuesday to Sunday 6 am to sunrise, and sunset to 11pm. The display changes often so you can go back again and again. Click here for more.
Wanuskewin Ski Trails
One of the newest winter experiences, Wanuskewin has 3 kilometres of cross country ski trail available to guests - no experience necessary, just bring your own skis! If that wasn't enough, they also have snowshoes and kicksleds that you can rent - at the cost of your ticket! Learn more at their site.
