Events & Things To Do in Saskatoon This June
We can all agree that Saskatoon is a year-round gem but let’s be honest, summer is when we really shine! Not only is June the beginning of festival season, but it also offers the perfect weather to get out and explore what Saskatoon & area has to offer. Here are a few things that top my list:
Nutrien Children’s Festival
This annual family favourite is back at Kinsmen Park June 2-5 with everything the kiddos love: the fossil find, main stage performances, roving entertainers, science and art booths, and so much more. Rarely will you see so many big smiles on little faces?
Pride Festival Saskatoon
Pride runs June 12-18. Events will be happening online and throughout the city including Spark Your Pride on June 14, presented in partnership with Western Development Museum. Look forward to a daylong celebration of 2SLGBTQ+ people, their families, and their allies with locations to be announced.
Wanuskewin
All June long, daily drop-in activities like dance presentations, plant walks, and Bison walks are free at with admission at Wanuskewin. And while you’re out there, let the kids enjoy that amazing playground! It’s easy to spend hours at this nearby destination.
The Berry Barn
Here’s a summer weekend must-do! The Berry Barn boasts attractions of Pedal Go-Carts, the Berry Barn Train, a petting zoo, and pony rides. Note that these are cash-only. Hours are 11-4 Saturday and Sunday, weather permitting.
Camp Wolf Willow
Take a day trip or plan a prairie getaway at this expansive valley property complete with a restaurant and canteen on-site that serve, of course, Wolf Willow Winery products. You can choose to tent or, “glamp”! Wolf Willow has lovely A-frame wooden tents to rent or larger luxury tents that are straight off Pinterest.
Odla Farm-to-table Dinner
Gather some of your friends and enjoy a meal together al fresco for this special June 12 event. Soak in the peaceful prairie landscape, and enjoy custom cocktails and a 4-course dinner with canapés, a guided farm tour, and a bonfire to end the evening.
Patio at Bess Gardens
In town, patio season is on and we’ve got some good ones. Especially magical are the geometric private dining domes at the Delta Hotel by Marriott Bessborough. A dreamy view of South Saskatchewan, hand-crafted cocktails, and a gourmet meal? Add me to your res, please.
SaskTel Jazz Festival
Squeaking into the June lineup is this beloved annual festival which commences on the 30th. Lucinda Williams, Arkells, The Lost Keys, and many more acts will bring the city to life with music. Catch your favourites or try something new at the Main Stage (book a Bess dining dome for the ultimate experience) or head to one of the great live venues.
Whether you choose something on the list or find your own path, I hope you’re feeling inspired to make some plans to celebrate summer’s kick-off month, because the city is just heatin’ up. Happy #Saskatooning!
