Outdoor Adventure in the Heart of Saskatoon
Have you visited The Local Adventure Co. lately? If not, you don’t know what you’re missing! To begin with, this is their fifth year of business. That’s right - this entire time, you could have been having beautiful adventures within Saskatoon and other parts of Saskatchewan! Do I have you intrigued yet? Let’s dive into The Local Adventures Co. and what they can offer you on your adventure experience.
Swing Away Your Worries
Hanging out in a hammock might not be the first thing that comes to mind, but I can assure you it should be!
One of my favourite things to do when camping is to string up a hammock and curl up for a bit of reading. I love the feel of the wind brushing alongside me while I'm engrossed in the newest chapter of whatever I’m reading.
I will boast that it is one of the BEST places to nap! Stretched out in the sun, swaying slightly (if there is wind), it makes you feel like a cat about to cozy up for a cat nap. I cannot recommend this enough!
Float Away in A Dream
Or, in this case, on a paddle board or a kayak! When booking one of these options, the staff will show you the basics of what is required so you can feel confident about your adventure. Trust me when I say nothing is better than paddling on the river on a nice, hot summer’s day.
I personally enjoy paddleboarding, as the experience tends to be quite meditative (at least when I’m not falling into the water). Plus, seeing all the sights on either side of the river simultaneously is a great photography opportunity!

Peddle to the Mettle
Water, not your thing? How about biking? Better yet, how about e-biking? You read that right! The Local Adventure Co. also offers e-bikes to rent.
This rental is perfect for a cute date along the river, a fun afternoon sightseeing, or simply trying something new! This was my first time on an e-bike, and I’m hooked! As someone who has a knee injury, getting around on an e-bike still left me with all the fun of biking without any of the pain I normally feel!
The Sights, The Sun, The Swimming!
This year's new addition is the Stories of the Churchill! The Stories of the Churchill features a half-day lake tour in Buffalo Narrows, which includes lunch on the shore, swimming on a secluded beach, tons of information about the area, and bird watching.
