Folkfest

This year marks 45 years since Folkfest has been in Saskatoon! From the 15th to the 17th, you can immerse yourself in multiculturalism by visiting pavilions featuring performances, activities, and delicious food! There’s nothing quite like traveling the world within a few afternoons, is there?

This year, Folkfest is featuring ePassports. These passports guarantee entrance into the event locations and cultural pavilions at École Canadienne-Française, Nutana Legion, Indian & Métis Friendship Centre, and Prairieland Park. Worried about parking? Your ePassport also allows you to take city transit. The Folkfest Bus Terminal serves as the main transfer point for Route 150 and is located on the south side of 23rd Street, facing east in front of the Francis Morrison Library. Additionally, routes 1 and 19 serve Prairieland Park, offering another easy option for Folkfest explorers.

Rock the River

Are you ready to rock (the river)? From August 16th to 18th at the Bessborough Gardens, it is your time to get up and get loud! Be sure to bring a chair (as none are provided), and be prepared for rain or shine. While Rock the River is a 3-day event, you can also buy tickets for specific days.

Suppose you want to step up the fun. In that case, Rock the River is also selling tickets for an All-Inclusive Terrace, including four 3-day passes, an air-conditioned lounge area, complimentary beverages, snacks, dinner daily, a Rock the River t-shirt, and tons more!

Rock the River features Foghat, Nazareth, Great White, Lighthouse, Harlequin, The Stampeders, Trooper, The Box, Aldo Nova, Prism, and Toque this year.

Show & Shine

Are you ready to take over Downtown Saskatoon for the ultimate vehicle event? Show & Shine has different events all weekend (including Rock the River) for car enthusiasts. On Saturday, the day starts with Drive & Shine, where you can visit local businesses for a chance to win thousands of dollars of prizes. Saturday evening has the Mini Show & Shine at the Co-op Pit Stop on 8th Street. This event has food trucks attending, so come hungry!

The main event takes place on Sunday, with the Show & Shine Downtown Car Show! Roads will be blocked in downtown Saskatoon from 1st Avenue to 4th Avenue and between 20th Street and 23rd Street on Sunday, Aug. 20, from 4 am to 5 pm. This will be your time to get out and see classic cars, custom cars, trucks, and motorcycles.
